Your journey with Kalyra Counselling

Counselling can bring up many questions. Here you can see my own journey towards qualification, including many hours of study, research and client hours. Learn more about my commitment to continuous development based on a strong foundation of personal enlightenment.

Ongoing expertise

As a counsellor I am technically always 'in training'. I seek to ensure my knowledge is up to date through Continuous Professional Development (CPD), which complements the many years of training I have already completed. This commitment ensures you receive the most current and effective support as I strive to keep up with the latest research, papers and studies in emotional health.

My foundational training and qualifications

My commitment to excellence is rooted in extensive education and training. I have achieved proficiency at Levels 2 & 3 Counselling Skills,  a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling, and a Certificate of Higher Education in Psychology from the Open University in July 2021.

Further qualifications include a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention (RQF) (February 2022) and an NCFE Cache Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems (September 2022).

Broadening my expertise

In addition to formal qualifications, my continuous professional development includes clinical issues such as Safeguarding & Neurodiversity and Sand Tray therapy. This ongoing learning enhances my ability to support a diverse range of client needs.

My patient/client experience includes serving as a fully trained Samaritan, a Volunteer Active Listener for The Selsey Community Forum, and a Volunteer Active Listener for The Robins, Selsey, the latter of which provided palliative care and end-of-life companionship. This broad experience enriches my understanding and compassionate approach to counselling.

"Kalyra Counselling Services provided exceptional support, demonstrating deep understanding and genuine care. I felt truly heard and valued throughout my sessions."
