What does confidentiality mean for your clients?
Your assessment and anything we discuss in our sessions will remain confidential. However, there are certain circumstances in which I may have to break this if I believe there is a significant risk or threat of harm to yourself or another. I have trained within and continue to ensure my values align with the ethical standards of good practice outlined by the BACP’s (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Framework.

Are there any legal obligations that affect confidentiality?
I am legally obliged to ensure the appropriate authorities are informed if I suspect money laundering, human trafficking or terrorism are, or will, take place.

How does clinical supervision impact my confidentiality?
As part of my practice, I undertake regular Clinical Supervision, in that I am able to talk through aspects of our sessions with a trusted professional. This ensures your best interests and my well-being are maintained. This supervision allows me to explore any ethical concerns I might have in order to safeguard both myself and you, as a valued and autonomous individual.

What are the ethical standards you adhere to?
Our practice is guided by the ethical standards of good practice outlined by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework, ensuring the highest level of professional conduct and client care.
